Because Granicrete is an overlay system that is applied directly to an existing surface, and because grout lines can be placed arbitrarily wherever the designer wishes them, a number of the limitations of more traditional flooring materials are overcome.

No longer are you constrained by the size or weight of natural stone and manufactured tile. "Stones" or "tiles" as defined by the grout pattern can be as large or small as you like, while the pattern itself is entirely customizable - any shape or combination of shapes is possible. This allows for artwork and lettering to be easily incorporated into the grout pattern; logos, names, street numbers and more can be added as easily as they can be taped out. Combine this with the ability to completely specify colour and texture, and the result is truly remarkable.

Granicrete is the natural choice for a number of other reasons as well. Its flexibility and customizability scores highly over the "cookie cutter" look of concrete stamps; each "stone" is individual and unique, giving the finished product a more natural feel. Granicrete also resists fading over time and is significantly cooler against the skin than cement or natural stone. Exterior applications have no problem resisting Canada's extremes of summer and winter climates, with a compression strength four times that of an ordinary concrete driveway.

As if all that weren't enough, Granicrete is also the eco-friendly, green choice. It avoids the mess and landfill material of a demolition by resurfacing what is already there, and requires little material. It is maintained with just water and, if needed, a little mild detergent - no harsh chemicals or cleaners are required.
